As straight as u can. it helps lotz. The other thing people get wrong is the legs, da legs should not be bent (at all) at the knees. Keep your legs straight, it'll help make it easier to complete the rolling of the "wheel" (you). haha. The second hand does not come down at the same time as the first one. Wait for the right time to place the second hand. Gain momentum. Focus on a chest-high point on the wall—this is where you’ll place your feet. Remain focused on that spot as you begin running toward the wall at moderate speed. Plant your weaker foot about a meter away from the wall and start leaning back.

B. Push into the wall with your dominant foot. The longer you look at that spot, the higher you will go. Try to angle your body completely horizontal, without jerking your neck. Lean your head back, as your torso will follow your head.

C. Place your weaker foot against the wall and flick your ankle to drive the rotation. For a quick and controlled spin, tuck your knees close to your chest. Maintain eye contact with the ground to spot your landing, and force your legs around toward it.

D. Bend your knees as you hit the ground to absorb the landing and retain balance. A smooth landing takes practice to perfect, and it’s painful when botched, so have a friend spot you at first.

Lick Library - Ultimate Guitar Techniques - How to Play Fast

Lick Library - Ultimate Guitar Techniques - How to Play Fast

Learn to shred just like the very best with this hyperspeed DVD tutorial, packed to the limits with fretburning techniques alongside some crafty hints and tips!

From the blistering metal heroes such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Kirk Hammett, through the crazy fusion pyrotechnics of Steve Vai and Frank Gambale, right up to Jazz superstars John McLaughlin and Pat Metheny - all these players have one thing in common...the ability to fly around the fretboard with effortless speed. Also, wherever you go, you must be able to get back, if you go from A to B, you need to be able to get back from B to A, but not necessarily with the same movements or passements.

Despite this, there are many basic techniques that are emphasized to beginners for their versatility and effectiveness. Most important are good jumping and landing techniques. The roll, used to limit impact after a drop and to carry one's momentum onward, is often stressed as the most important technique to learn. Many traceurs develop joint problems from too many large drops and rolling incorrectly. Parkour has sometimes received concerns for its health issues due to large drops.

Communities in Great Britain have been warned by law enforcement or fire and rescue of the risk in jumping in the high buildings. Although David Belle has never been seriously injured while practising parkour, there is no careful study about the health issues of large drops and traceurs stress gradual progression to avoid any problems. Despite this, the American traceur Mark Toorock and Lanier Johnson, executive director of the American Sports Medicine Institute say that injuries are rare because parkour is based on the control of movements not on what cannot be controlled.

Basic movements

Some movements defined in parkour are:

<table class="wikitable" height="1433" style="font-size: 85%; Most Parkour injuries occur when the traceur is careless or attempting something beyond their capabilities (for example, jumping from too high up). And like any new physical activity, those starting out will have to get accustomed to using new muscle groups and body motions which can lead to anything from soreness to more serious injury if overly strenuous activity is attempted too soon. Each traceur must be able to know his or her limitations and progress at a rate that is appropriate.

Maybe you’ve seen videos of people leaping from rooftop to rooftop, or doing backfl ips off of bridges, and concluded that Parkour is a sport for daredevils. We are frequently asked by parents and other concerned people whether Parkour is a dangerous activity that will result in people being seriously injured. The answer is that like any sport, Parkour can be dangerous if proper safety precautions are not taken. If you are not an expert, the things you’ve seen in the movies and online are extremely dangerous. They are also not what most traceurs do when they practice Parkour.

Parkour does involve moving through the natural and urban environment, climbing walls, running, jumping, vaulting, rolling, and other things that can result in injury. This is why we recommend our classes for beginners to learn the basics of how to land safely, roll out of landings, jump with good form, and other fundamentals. There is inherent danger in many of the things we do, and we won’t attempt to obfuscate that. But in our collective experience, the more we practice Parkour, the more prepared our bodies become for real-life obstacles.

History of Parkour

Parkour was named in the 1980s when David Belle,

parkour founder, started using his father’s, Raymond Belle,

way of training for war and life. Pushing your body too far, too fast significantly increases the risk of injury and we recommend seeking experienced trraceurs or instructors to learn from first. This is a constant challenge, but you push yourself to do what you think is impossible. You build up your mind-set and the strength to do it. It’s freedom.

Parkour requires no equipment. It can be practiced in a bathing suit or business suit, in boots or barefoot. After some practice, you may find that certain types of clothing and footwear can make the practice easier. When you come out for your first training session, we recommend loose fitting athletic clothes and comfortable athletic shoes. A water bottle is always a good idea too.

*introduction :: What is Parkour?

The essence of Parkour can be stated simply: it is the art of overcoming obstacles as swiftly and efficiently as possible using only your body. The fundamentals include running, jumping, and climbing, and we build on these fundamentals to improve our ability to pass over, under, around and through obstacles with more complex movements. Parkour is a system of fitness training that improves strength, speed, agility,co-ordination, stamina, endurance, and precision. It offers a full-body workout at any level of experience, and improves your ability to move, to harness your confidence, to change how you see the world. Parkour practitioners are called“traceurs”.

The term Parkour is a spin on the French phrase “parcours du combatants,” which is the military obstacle-course training that has been in place since the turn into the twentieth century. While traveling around the world with the French navy, Georges Hébert (1875–1957) was inspired by the fitness and vitality of the indigenous peoples he encountered. By the time his tour of duty was complete, he returned to France with the concept of a méthode naturelle, or natural method, of exercise. Within this method, practitioners would run, jump, climb, swim, move quadrupedally (on all fours), fight, defend, and pick up and carry heavy objects.
